Owning Your Style

Fashion people often think that they can buy all the fashion & that gives them substance & makes the outfit look great. When in reality it’s your style that gives it substance.  It doesn’t matter about the labels, it’s how YOU make it look when you put the outfit together and put it on.There are many styles out there, edgy, conservative, sexy, & etc. What most people desire is to have a variety of every category, which means you can wear any style & still own it!

So I know you are probably reading this like how in the heck do I find my style. Simple, style is finding your comfortable self in the mist of the trends, the colors & everything else, and when you become comfortable with what and who you are that’s when style comes in. Please remember everyone’s style is different, the way I dress may not work for someone else and vice versa, and I’m totally find with that.

My style is being comfortable, I’m not doing anything extra that’s going to take me out of my comfort level. I am very simple dressed topped with a bad shoe, a nice big bag and my hair; that right there works for me. Why? Because that’s my personality and my comfort level. Do I wear dresses? Yes. Do I wear suits? Yes. But it’s always simple comfortable and it fits me.

** In Part 2 of Owning Your Style Divine Styling will explain how to discover  personal your style.

Look for it in the coming weeks.

I agree! I think a style can be versatile and still you! It took me a while to understand that concept but I’m starting to catch on. I never liked defining my style. Sometimes I like trends, sometimes I don’t. But I’ve never been big on trying to keep up with every one else.

    Good post!

I definitely agree with you. One thing that I admire about a have an individual style is knowing that it’s a reflection of us. One day I might feel sporty and dress with some jeans, jacket, hat, and sneakers. Then the next I will feel girly and want to wear a skirt, ruffle top, jewelry, and flats. It all depends on the person and it shows who we are and our personality.

I find trends and styling tips fun to keep up with because I studied fashion in college, but I think that we have to see if those things work for us. Some things are cute, but they are don’t fit our personality or shape. Sometimes they don’t even work at all for us. So we have to keep that in mind.

      Great comment! Thank you!
