How to Live Your Bucket List
Have you ever wanted to go on vacation but never felt like it was the right time? There’s always something holding you back like finances or the timing that makes us just push it back to ‘someday.’ Then, months later we’re while we’re still hoping for a vacation we’re waiting for the right time. So when does someday become become a reality?
I’m working on making a bucket list, and one thing I want to do more of which kind of seems unrealistic is to travel. I’ve always wanted to go to DC because I love history and visiting museums. I wanted to go to all the tourist sites and be there where history happened. It’s just that every time I would plan to go life intervened. Something would always happen where I couldn’t go either I lost my job or I couldn’t find anyone to go with me.
I eventually got tired of seeing my friends go on vacation and feeling frustrated with where I was that I do something. So I finally went to DC and it was A-MAZING! I went to the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument, and the White House which I’ve always wanted to see. It was better than I could have ever imagined, and while it did set me back some, I would do it all over again. After getting back I actually thought about when I would go again.
Since then I’ve realized that there’s no need to put things off or let excuses get in the way because that keeps us from living. If we let whatever happens in life hold us back then we would never get anything done. We cheat ourselves out of happiness when we leaning on an excuse.
If there is anything that you take away from this post, know that life is too short to put of living till later. There are tons of people in this world that have regrets about not achieving or going to do something, and my goal is to not be one of them. If you want something then go after it, because there’s no better time to live then now.
