The Value in You

Have you ever asked yourself how much you value you? The thought has never crossed my mind until someone asked me the same question. I value my life, family, friends, health, and so much more but never considered how important it is to add myself to the list.

My friend posed this question to me over the weekend while we were talking about my Superwoman Strength post and everything that I have going on. In talking to him, I’ve started to see how much believing in myself and caring for me mattered. A person can’t find that out in the world amongst their peers, it has to come from within.

I remember my grandmother telling me a long time ago that one cannot find validation amongst others or in what they do, they have to find value from themselves. While we love everything that we do, sometimes we have to see through that to see what makes us great. That’s when we see our talents, what makes us unique, and how much we matter.

Aside from the work and everything that I’m working on I’ve found my strength and better defined who I am. Just as Rev Run tweeted today, “If you really put a small value upon yourself, rest assured that the world will not raise your price.”

Oh yeah! It is so important that we value ourselves. If we don’t, who will?

Thank you for the compliment, you are too kind. You are right when you said “who will” value us if we don’t value ourselves. We have to know who we are, value that, and care ourselves accordingly for others to see.

Thank you for the comment and stopping by JSin.
